Birthdays!!!

JD turned 3 on July 12. I was able to go to the birthday party and play with the bubbles and the kiddies. Good times!! Angela turned 29 again on saturday. I know this year will the best 29th year yet as she enters the next phase in her life (marriage!! yay!!). I am happy to be a part of it all. Back in June, Christy turned 30. We took her for a boat ride around Plymouth and then dinner and then off to Boston for a scavenger hunt with Ashley!! Life only gets better from here!!! So happy birthday to you all, sorry it is delayed.

Where have I been?

A lot going on this summer, my first not with the Cannons. In May, I went to Vegas for the College Athletic Trainers meetings with my friend Catie. I didn't win any money but I had a good time and I learned some things which is always a bonus. We followed that up with a trip to Andover to see Keith and Kristen get married. Good times had by all. I am not much for dancing but I enjoyed watching everyone else get after it. We were also able to get to Connecticut for a weekend to see Delia and Wally's house which was tons of fun. I can't wait to go visit again once I have my bocces skills perfected, that is. Christy's 30th birthday was in June. We took her on a surprise boat trip with the Leahy's around Plymouth Harbor during the day and then dinner in Abington with close friends and family and then off to Boston for a scavenger hunt. I think she had a great time and she deserves the best. 4th of July we headed to Matunuck for the Sean gingras Annual 4th of July bash. Beers, fireworks, Yucca, mini golf and trivia filled the weekend. Good times good times. I started working camps this month, a trip to New Jersey for a week and then Umass Dartmouth for another 5 days. I head back down on monday. She works hard for the money....Last weekend we went to Kennebunkport to witness Robert and Suzanne's wedding. An emotional day (good emotions) we had a blast. We will be sad when they move all the way to Hawaii. I am not sure who wants to meet us on a random night at the Q or the Shamrock for a beer now! Congrats to them. So that about sums it up. I will add pictures of the above events when I get home. I will try to keep this more updated. I know it upsets people when I don't (ehem, Paul).

The age of innocence

After work, Paul and I took a leisurely stroll down to Castle Island. We purchased grilled cheese sandwiches, fries and sodas and sat and ate them overlooking the ocean the playground. We were cracking up at the imaginations of little kids. It is too funny how kids can make anything seem fun. My friend Christy and I used to pretend her picnic table and bulk head were the only two "safe places" in her backyard, "the swamp". These two little girls last night ran up to the Fort on Castle island and realized the gates were so huge and locked. One said to the other "let's pretend we're princesses and we're locked out of our castle". Not missing a beat, the other one said "let's go look in the windows and see if anyone can let us in". That is the best. This huge old Fort is now their castle and they have transformed into princesses. There was no planning, no drawing up drafts, no phone calls about what was to take place, one said it and the other just went along. It was so great. My nephew JD wants to be spiderman when he grows up. How great is that? He really thinks that is an eligible job. If only I was little and could just walk around making up imaginary scenarios. I think I might be committed.

Kessel is the Offensive Spark they needed

The Bruins defense has been holding them in this series (well all except game 1). They have held the #1 power play in the NHL to 2 goals. But last night, the dressed Kessel for the first time since game one in the playoffs and he provided that offensive spark they needed. Game 5 goes to they Bruins 5-1 in Montreal. I think we may be in Carey Price's head. He made a few rookie, un-price like mistakes. Series comes back to Boston saturday. I wish I could go on saturday. Anyone who wants to donate tickets to me, feel free. This series earily reminds me of 2004 when The B's were up 3-1. I went to game 5 with he who shall not be named and the B's blew it 5-2 and the series went back up to Montreal and they took the next 2 games. Let's see if we can remake history but in our favor. WOOHOO!! GO B's!!!!

Mooooooooooooo

So I sent an email to Paul telling him that I pulled my calf a little and this photo was what he sent back. As you can see it is a calf. Just not the one in my leg that was tugging while I was out for my run. Ha ha. So silly, that one. Good one Paul. Next time I will be sure to say "I think I have a mild strain of my right gastroc/soleus complex". Try to find a photo of that.

9. Dogs don't talk back
8. They keep your feet warm
7. He/she would keep me safe when we are running
6. There are a lot of dogs out there with no homes
5. Then I won't want a kid just yet
4. Dogs will watch all the stupid TV shows I want to watch (PBR)
3. Dogs will eat anything I cook and not complain
2. So I can make friends with all the other dogs/owners in southie at M street park
1. He/she will keep me company all summer while everyone is at work

Battle of the sexes

Last night we played a board game with two other couples, men vs women. Basically the men have to ask "male" questions to the women and vice versa. Well I found out some interesting things. The men knew a lot about curtains, nail files and the OC. Paul even knew what a Johnny Jump up was (pictured here). I am not sure we should be proud to be beaten by our significant others getting all the girly questions right or to run away in shame. HOwever it was fun all the same. I need to learn to go with my first instinct and not to change my answer. The fun part of the game was deciding which of the three questions to ask first, basically, how well do you know your partner. I think I got it right a few times....but man did those boys surprise us.
