I was just informed that my last blog post was January 2009. So I am updating. I don't have much to say but I will try to think of something. I purchased a macbook pro laptop in March. I have always been a PC person so this is a new experience. Well, it wasn't so good. Within 31 days, I got a lovely little message when I turned it on, a blank screen with a tiny file folder with a question mark in the middle of it. Apparently that means "so sorry, I lost your entire hardrive". I was soooo mad. I marched right down to boylston street with my month old laptop, red in the face. I was greeted by the pretentiousness that is Apple when I walked in. I waited to talk to my "genius". He was a jerk and not kind at all. He did not express any sympathy about my laptop dying in the middle of a semester in grad school. There was also a hipster band playing on the help floor so it was impossible to hear anything the "geniuses" were saying. Needless to say, I convinced him to replace the laptop instead of fixing it and I am the owner of MacBook Pro number 2. I am getting used to it. Some things are easier on here but I don't think I will ever "love it" but nor do I "love" any computer. I do love that people aren't writing viruses for Macs yet so I am much less likely to crash my system myself. It looks pretty, so I have that going for me. I am learning tidbits about it that make it easier to use. It is growing on me but I still don't think I will ever be an apple person. I feel like a tool every time I step in there. They are all a bit too happy. :-) Not that there is anything wrong with that.
